This walk is being led by Stuart and Amanda who have been on most of our outings. Perhaps they are best known for owning Alfred The Great (Alfie to his intimates) the wee terrier.
Be that as it may, this walk takes us onto glorious Dartmoor from the village of Lustleigh which is between Bovey Tracey and Moreton- hampstead 10 miles west of Exeter, off the A382.
The original details posted here have been changed to make it gentler, easier – aren't they kind? Six miles or thereabouts, say four hours at a gentle pace – to make it worth us traveling from a distance.
To find the start:
The start map reference is SX785813 (Click here, then tap in the map ref). Start at 10.30am.
From up country follow M5 towards Exeter, join the A380 signposted Plymouth. Exit the A380 at Drumbridges roundabout following the signs for Bovey Tracey. Drive down Bovey Straights to first roundabout, take second exit following signs for Bovey Tracey. At the second roundabout, look out for Fire Station, take first exit signposted Haytor and Manaton. Stay on this road for Manaton for about 3 miles looking out for the right hand turn signposted Lustleigh. Take this right turn and then lookout for the Pullabrook Woods car park on the left hand side after about 3/4 of a mile. This is the start and finish point of our walk.

Lovely glade
Should be on every picture postcard
Over we go.
We all want to know what happens next: a flying dive, jump, maybe . . . . Geronimo?
